A Summary Of Our Faith
* Episcopalians are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we believe in God in a Trinity of Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
*Faithful to the promises we make at our Baptism, we respect the dignity of every human person and love our neighbors as ourselves.
*We are a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion and trace our roots to the apostles and the beginnings of Christianity in the first century.
*We uphold the Bible as containing all things necessary for salvation and use the Book of Common Prayer as the basis of our worship.
*Our faith is affirmed in the Apostles and Nicene Creeds as interpreted by our Catechism.
*Our worship follows the ancient Christian structure of the Word of God and Holy Communion.
*We welcome all baptized persons to share Holy Communion, not only members of the Episcopal Church.
*Lay persons exercise a vital role in the ministry and governance of our church.
*We welcome all persons, married or celibate, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity to discern a call to become deacons, priests and bishops.
*We believe that marriages are lifelong, monogamous commitments for couples of the same or opposite genders. We recognize that there is grace after divorce and all the sacraments are available to persons after divorce.
* We affirm that birth control and abortion are matters of personal and informed conscience.
*We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.
*We affirm that the church is a safe place for all persons and create an environment free of any form of harassment.
*We welcome everyone to find a spiritual home in the Episcopal Church.
