Baptism is the sacrament by which we become members of God’s family, the Church. We are united with Christ in his death and resurrection and we are given new life in the Holy Spirit.
We baptize both adults and children. Since baptism is a life-long commitment of faith, persons seeking baptism are expected to attend worship regularly; before, during, and after the baptism preparation.
Baptisms are typically celebrated on the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in January), at the Easter Vigil (the Saturday night before Easter), on Pentecost (50 days after Easter), and All Saints Sunday (the first Sunday in November).
